What do you think of your girlfriend working at a college bar?

My long-term girlfriend wants to be a cocktail waitress at a local college bar. I think it's a horrible idea for many reasons. Most importantly, her safety. I don't want her to be objectified by rude drunks and face constant harassment (we all know that happens at bars). I know waitresses flirt with customers to get tips, which is totally fine, accept for the fact that her flirting in the past has gone a little too far and created trust issues. I really love this woman, but I don't know how to handle this situation! What do you think of your girlfriend working at a college bar?
I would say it's up to her but if she has crossed the line of trust in the past she needs to realise it will take time to get that trust back. If your not comfortable with it then you should let her know. Tell her you think it may cause problems in the relationship further down the line and you really don't like the idea. She has to take your feelings into consideration, after all if she hadn't broken the trust in the first place this wouldn't be as much of an issue now.

Even though bars can get crazy, she is an employee. If she has a problem w/ a customer (as in an customer service/serving job), she can get the manager. I'm sure if a patron is harassing the waitstaff, he could be removed from the bar. In addition, if she needs a minute to get away from the situation. I'm sure there is an Employees Only Area that she can go to.

I have a friend that works for a bar. At the end of the night, all the patrons get kicked out and they have to leave the premises. This includes the outside areas. The bartenders, managers, waitstaff, buser and bouncers are all left. They clean up and everyone leaves together. I'm sure she could get someone to walk her to her car.

Just think of the money. It's great. Don't be worried.
