I recently found an archive of chat messages on my boyfriend's computer. There was major flirting going on. I looked because I had a ';feeling'; that he was not only having innocent chats. A few days before he was moving from another state to come here where I live, he wrote to a girl things such as, ';I'm thinking of staying here instead of going to California to live with my girlfriend.'; Another time, a woman said, ';bite me'; jokingly to him. He asked, ';Where should I bite you?'; She said, ';Where would you like?'; He answered, ';How about your nip---le?'; Plus, he talked to LOTS of different women (whose pictures were of them half-naked), and he was constantly sending ';hugs'; and ';kisses'; to them. He also invited them to view his webcam and gave them his phone number to call him. I blew up and kicked him out, and he says he did nothing wrong... he claims that ';virtual hugs and kisses'; are harmless. I disagree. Am I wrong?Is flirting on online chat/messenger a form of cheating on your girlfriend/boyfriend?
If you're not comfortable with it, and he really loved you then he should accept that and stop.
It's really depending on who we're talking about.
Every so often, my girlfriend will look at another guy and I'll look at another girl but we just ask each other, ';Do you love me? ';Yes, yes I do.'; ';Then, it doesn't matter.';
So, if you feel real strongly about it, instead of blowing up in his face, try and have a serious conversation with him about it and see where it goes from there.
Good luck. ^_^Is flirting on online chat/messenger a form of cheating on your girlfriend/boyfriend?
that is flirting! guys really do not content their selves with just one girl. it is cheating because he does to other people what she must only do to you. even if he does it online, he's also capable of doing it anywhere. tell him to stop or else his chatting may go to something else like meeting his chatmates and so on....
and also i think that guys who do that in front of their gf think of their relationships way too low. if he loves you, he will never do such a thing that would make you hurt and would leave all his vices so he could be a better person for you. be careful with him, and if he still does it eventhough you're hurting, then space yourself from him. he's an idiot and you won't need that kind of man.
NO, you are toatally not wrong at all.If a boyfriend does any type of that kind of stuff, even if its online i think taht its wrong and hes not comitted to his relationship.
Well, the things that were said weren't appropriate.
Virtual hugs and kisses are harmless if they are just meant as a friend, not anything else than that.. Well that's my opinion.
That in my books is cheating. Even if he has not acted physically on these messages, the thought is there, the intention is there. If he is talking about it with other women then in my opinion he is thinking about acting physically with these people. I'm sorry but I just think that is REALLY very wrong. Good on you for making that step. You are SO much better off without him. You will find someone one day that will treat you so much better... and you will look back on this experience and know you did the right thing. Well done, stick to your ground and walk away knowing you deserve much better. Best of luck and I hope you find true happiness soon.
I find his behavior very disrespectful towards his relationship with you. Plus his being so inappropriate shows me about his lack of moral standards
You did nothing wrong at all! He pissed you off big time, and i would be too if i were in that situation.
If he's interested in chatting online with other women in that way, he'll probably be willing to do that offline too.
There's no excuse for doing such things! Flirting (especially inappropriately) with other women while he's with you is unacceptable behaviour.. sure he says it's 'harmless' but if he makes you angry and makes you question it then is it really harmless?
And yes, i agree with the first answer, it shows he is not totally commited to your relationship.
